A great course for developing outdoor rock climbers - Level 2
Go beyond the basics with this informative rock climbing course designed for those who are ready to take the next step. In this class you will learn how to setup a basic top-rope anchor, rappel safely, and improve your climbing movement techniques. Our professional climbing instructors will provide valuable feedback while you push your climbing ability on challenging routes. This course is perfect for graduates of the Introduction to Rock Climbing class and for intermediate to advanced gym climbers looking to make the transition to outdoor rock climbing.
We'll start the day at the top of the rock and go over top rope anchor set ups, general anchoring principles, and the most common knots used to construct them. In addition, we will take an in-depth look at climbing gear history, application, strength, and care. After this, we will move to the base of the rock where you will be introduced to climbing techniques for cracks, slabs, route finding, energy conservation, and more. You will have time on the rock to practice these skills while challenging yourself with coaching from your guide.
